Min-y-don is primely set within Snowdonia National Park, the largest national park in Wales and home to the highest Welsh mountain.

Needless to say, Snowdonia is known for its exceptional walking trails and is a hiker’s eutopia. Covering 838 square miles of beautiful land, there is a walk for every ability. From climbing Snowdon itself, to the smaller peaks of Cader Idris and ground level countryside planes to explore.

Looking for something even more thrilling than mountain climbing? Snowdonia National Park is home to the world’s fastest zip wire. Zip World for those seeking thrills from great heights has four zip lines at 1.5km in length and 500m above the Penrhyn Quarry. This is a truly unique an extraordinary way to enjoy some excellent Welsh views, although you can reach up to 100mph on these zip wires, so you’ll need to be eagle eyed!

On the edge of Snowdonia you will find a thrill-seeker’s eutopia. The Fforest Coaster ride is a 1km-long toboggan style roller coaster, and it is the UK’s only alpine coaster. Flying through twists and turns, slaloming trees in the forest, this is an unbeatable way to get your heart racing but also enjoy nature at the same time. Children as young as 3 can enjoy the coaster too, and you can control the brakes so if you love the nature side of the ride more than the adrenaline then you can go as slowly as you like!

Bounce Below

Bounce Below is a world’s first attraction – underneath Zip World, a cavern twice the size of St Paul’s Cathedral has been converted into an enormous underground trampoline. You’ll take a short train journey down into the cavern and arrive 100 feet below the surface of the Earth. Then you’ll have an entire hour to bounce away in this enormous subterranean playground.

The Area

There is a misconception however, that Snowdonia National Park is only for outdoor lovers and adventure seekers. Covering such a large area of land, it would be impossible for Snowdonia National Park not to offer something for everyone.
